How to Apply

This page explains our recruitment policy and how to apply to join TR. If you are considering joining and want to know more about the guild before applying, you can read more about us.

Minimum requirements for applying to join TR

The current minimum requirements for applying to The Renaissance are:

1. You must join with your main character, which must be level 190 or higher. (Once you have been accepted your alts can be recruited as well, as long as your level 190+ main stays in the guild.)

2. We are an English speaking guild so you must be able to communicate in English well enough to take part in guild activities.

3. You must have all current expansion packs (The Notum Wars, Shadowlands, Alien Invasion and Lost Eden) on your main character's account. (Many of our guild activities require these expansion packs, so it would be difficult for you to fit in without them.)

4. You understand that it will be your duty as a TR member to take part in tower battles when asked to do so by the guild, and to drop whatever else you are doing in game when this happens.

5. You understand that TR members are asked not to play alts in other guilds (we normally make exceptions for private alien farming orgs, and "temp joins").

Please note that all of these requirements exist for good reasons and they are not negotiable. In particular, we do not make exceptions to requirement 5 for Neutral characters, even if they are over level 200. Sorry.

The Recruitment Process

If you meet the minimum requirements and would like to join,

  • EITHER contact one of our Recruitment Officers in game for an interview. The recruitment officers are currently:
    • Clockinit or Allaces (best for American timezones)
    • Neccoz (best for European timezones)
    • Redadv (best for Asia-Pacific timezones)
  • OR use the Interview Request Form to send us your details, and we'll get back to you.

Everybody who wants to join TR must be interviewed. If you are applying as a group of friends then we understand that you might not want to join until it's confirmed that all your friends have been accepted - and that's not a problem. But it's important to us that everybody who joins TR understands what the guild stands for and is sure that it's what they want, and the individual interview is our way of ensuring that.

After your interview it can take up to two weeks for your application to be processed, although we understand that long delays in recruitment can be annoying for players, and try hard to process all applications in less than one week.

Most applications take at least 3 days after your interview to process, so please don't ask us about the status of your application until that time has passed. After 3 days, you are welcome to ask whether your application has been processed, but please do not try to argue with officers if they say it's not ready yet - individual officers, including the Director, do not have the power to cut short the recruitment process. Everybody, including former leaders of allied guilds, who has joined TR has had to go through this process. We want to recruit good members just as much as you want to get into TR, so we won't keep you waiting without a good reason.

Delays can be caused by guild officers being busy (due to real life, or in-game factors such as heavy Notum Wars activity.) They can also be caused by incomplete or confusing answers given by you during the recruitment process, so it is in your own interests to answer all questions as completely and clearly as you can. Finally, we will usually be able to process applications more quickly if you have several recommendations from TR members, so do ask your friends in TR to recommend you.

Warning: If you lie or attempt to mislead us at any stage during the recruitment process, your application will be rejected automatically. If you join the guild and we later discover that you lied during the recruitment process, you will be kicked.

References/Sponsors

We do not require a formal sponsor but we will not normally accept your application unless you are recommended by a full member (not applicant) of TR, or by a respected member of the wider Omni community. We will post your name on our Recruitment Noticeboard for members, but it is your responsibility to ask your friends in the guild to give us a recommendation. The quicker your friends give us their recommendations, the quicker your application can be processed.

If you can't think of anybody who could recommend you, you can still apply, and hope that a member recognises your name when it is posted on our Recruitment Noticeboard.

As an exception, if you have changed sides from Clan in the last 6 months you must be recommended by a full member of TR before being interviewed.

Reapplications

If you have previously applied to TR but your application was not accepted or you withdrew it, you must wait at least two months from the date of the decision before applying again.

You may apply a maximum of three times.

NB. If you join another guild while you are waiting for a decision, your application will be treated as withdrawn.

If you have problems or questions

If you have any problems with your application, please contact one of the recruitment officers in the first instance. If they are unable to help you, please contact Carjoy directly, either in game or by private message on the guild forums.
